Susie is a UKBA(Cert) and Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) who has been working in health and social care for over 20 years.  She has been working within the Positive Behaviour Support framework for 15 years, working with both children and adults in a variety of settings including Supported Living, Residential, an Assessment and Treatment Unit, family homes, and schools. 

Susie is passionate about teaching skills, both to individuals and to their families and/or staff teams, to achieve long term and sustainable improvements in quality of life.  She has experience of implementing practical functional assessment and structured skills teaching programmes to teach people both effective communication skills and increased resilience. 

Susie has many years of experience of using behavioural approaches at both an individual and service level as well as within multi-disciplinary teams.  Susie values working collaboratively with people and their circle of support, working together to find strategies that are genuinely ‘doable’ and effective within the setting in which the person lives. 

Susie enjoys supervising others who work in a variety of settings, and promoting values lead, evidence-based support.  Susie has delivered Positive Behaviour Support training to organisations, support teams and families for many years, both individualised and service wide. 

Susie is currently Safeguarding Lead, providing advice and support on how to advocate for the children and vulnerable adults with whom we work, and developing robust organisational systems to support this.
